Ride4Life a great success

The Ride4Life went off really well yesterday in Killarney. The weather was amazing, the scenery breathtaking and the riders really enjoyed the 2 routes. Thanks again to the riders and supporters for coming out and for being so enthusiastic, and special thanks to Stephen Roche for leading the 88km route. There was a tremendous buzz in town for the Tour of Ireland stage finish which was just after our Ride4Life cyclists came in. Mark Cavendish won the stage in a blistering sprint finish.

We hope to have some pictures tomorrow and we’d love to see your photos too.

Lance Armstrong is the most successful cyclist of the modern era, having won the Tour de France a record 7 times. His achievements are particularly amazing considering he is a cancer survivor, having once been told he had only a 50/50 chance of surviving.

He retired from competitive cycling after the 2005 Tour de France, but returned to competition in January 2009, primarily to promote cancer awareness. He finished 3rd in the 2009 Tour de France.

Lance will compete in the 2009 Tour of Ireland in parallel with the Ride4Life and he has lent his support to the event. Read a letter from Lance Armstrong where he explains his reasons for returning to cycling and inviting you to take part in the Ride4Life.
